Without guile.

Nathaniel (Bartholomew) must have been an extraordinary fellow even for Jesus, since our Lord remarked, "This man is a true Israelite.  There is no guile in him." [Jn 1:47]  (I like the word guile better than duplicity.)
.
It seems to me it is the rare bishop today the Lord could say that about.

  1. I have to agree - and I would add that Batholomew was comfortable in his own skin.

    Get it?

  3. Terry, I like the word, "guile", as well.
    And, pray God, He will send us more Bartholomews...being a bishop is not supposed to be "fun" or "prestigious" and comprimising with the world in whatever way, shape or form is bad, very bad.

  4. Hi Terry, I recall you're exactly a fan of Michael Voris and his Vortex but you may like this vlog in relation to this post. In it are the words of a rare bishop; our former Archbishop of Quebec, His Eminence Cardinal Marc Ouellet recently appointed Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and President of the Commission for Latin America.

    I met him twice in person and he is a very humble man who, at the same time, minces no words.

    {on a side note, poor Michael just butchers the pronunciation of Ouellet but one can't be perfect}

  5. Hi Owen - welcome back to blog-o-world. I'll check out the blog - I think I did a quote from Ouellet in my post on Fr. Rodriguez. He brings hope to the process.

    I don't dislike Michael, but I was concerned about him. A friend cleared all that up for me.

    Thanks for commenting. God bless!

    Sorry Terry, the more I see of him, the more I am concerned for him and for those who follow him.

    Show me! (And I ain't even from Missouri.)

    Sincerely, In my spinning pencil, Ace
