Satirical group blogs can manage to stay fresh for only so long - so enjoy this one while it lasts - so far it is the funniest I've ever seen.

  2. Men in loinclothes...hmmm..

I won't ask a gentleman what he wears under his loincloth.. :)

I like the birdies though...about the only ones that visit my feeder now are the house finches and sparrows...and hummingbirds to their feeder..I have one little piggy female hummingbird who is really bossy and thinks the feeder is ALL HERS...

  3. Terry and Austringer--

I am taking my first painting class tonight...I'll let you know how it goes. We are using acrylic paints.

I also bought some little decorative wooden birdhouses to paint using up the leftover yellow paint from my kitchen painting project...I'll be able to use those to practice what I learn in class.

    Sara,

I love craftsy things -- I am sure you will enjoy painting the birdhouses. I always had in mind to take some ordinary wooden birdhouses and cover them in birchbark -- you can always find thing sheets of it in birch woods. But have I gotten around to it? NO! I envy you, really!

Enjoy your class. If I were your teacher, I would have you start in oils because they're so much more workable, but what the hey.

I think I just went down a rabbit-hole, or whatever that term was...

  5. Terry - it is a funny blog, but what makes it even more enjoyable is reading how other blogs like Vox Nova are reacting to it.

  6. Larry - I know! - they seem to be getting under everyone's skin - I hope they take a shot at us! (Are you sure you don't write for them?)

"Fame! I want to live forever!"

    Oh well.

  7. Terry: Superb!
If I may borrow a term from Kat, "HIFREAKINLARIOUS!":<)

  8. Terry - no, I don't write for them. They are brilliant - I don't think they'll burn in hell for their blog, but they might have to endure an ironic purgatory.

  9. I checked out their blog...how FUNNY!! I love the tongue-in-cheek humor. I think my full-tuime engineer tattooed biker babe Personna needs to pay them a visit :) But please don't tell them I'm a fair to middln cook :)

For some reason I just can't picture the men in my parish sitting around "tatting" lace vestments..although when I was in Turkey the BEST lacemakers WERE men..and quite manly men at that...

I think for many folks "Men in Lace" kinda equates with "Men in Tights"....

  10. Sara: I have been reading TCA for several days now...can't figure out whether to laugh hysterically or to cry!
    They are GOOOOD!
Whomever is doing this has "hit the nail on its head"...I mean, really!
We have to laugh at ourselves and the idiocy of it all (liberals, conservatives, neo-conservatives, traddies, whatnot)...
Jesus is the "real thing"...His Church is the "real thing"...we're just a part of some crazy mess, I'm afraid:<)!
