Oh good grief. My diocesan (Steubenville) newspaper runs his column in every issue.
Thanks for pointing that out Thom.
What is so sad is the care we must now take when reading "Catholic" authors.
Our archdiocese (Omaha) newspaper runs his column also. I have read some of his stuff that seemed good, some that seemed silly. None of it was heterodox that I could see. Admittedly I don't read it every time; I can take or leave him as an author. I do trust our archbishop that if he, as the publisher of the paper, found something seriously at odds with orthodox teaching that he would pull the plug on the column.
I couldn't agree more!
Our diocesan rag used to carry his column. Also our parish "book club" (grey haired ladies who are all for womyn priests) just LOVE him. That tells me everything I need to know!
He's in the Scottish Catholic Observer too :)A little extreme taking him down because he says some bad stuff, no? I mean, Origen is in the Office of Readings ...
