Blessed Anna Maria Taigi

Wife, Mother, Mystic.
.
Bl. Anna Maria is also one of the worst dressed incorruptibles in Church history.
.
June 9th is her feast day. Through her revelations she also popularized the prospect of the Three Days Darkness. My friend David gets rather excited about that, although the Church really doesn't have much to say on the subject.
.
Her website here.

LOL One of the funniest things I've ever read on your blog, Terry. I'll be laughing all day.

  3. I read something about the Three Days prophesy on what seemed to be an alarmist website once. I didn't realize a bunch of saints had prophesied it. How strange. I'm still not familiar with Catholic thoughts on end times/judgment, since I just converted. I know the Evangelical view on Revelation, but supposedly that's not something Catholics believe. Seems sorta similar, in my opinion.

And considering that she's an incorruptible, I don't know that her prophecies can just be dismissed.

    Interesting stuff.

  4. I'm sure if the funeral director knew she was going to incorruptible and on display, he would have dressed her in something trendier.

The 3 days of darkness has always fascinated me. I have my blessed candles just in case.

  5. Miss B - I was nice to you then, remember?

Christopher - I'm glad I'm not the only one laughing.

Seeker - quite a few saints have mentioned the 3 days darkness - so there must be something to it - like Larry, I have blessed candles too - just in case.

  6. Terry:
If I remember correctly, awhile back you listed fellow bloggers and the saints they reminded you of. I was Blessed Anna Maria Taigi. It has nothing to do with her outfit, does it? I don't think I wore that much satin on my wedding day!

I'm still confused on the Three Days of Darkness. Have some rad trad friends who think I'm living on the wild side by not having a stock pile of food and water in my basement.

  8. Larry - I forgot to say how funny your comment is.

Belinda - I don't know what to say.

Monica - I don't have anything stockpiled either. I keep trying to stock pile beer but it seems to disappear.

    When was Bush a pro-lifer?

  10. The dress is gorgeous!

A friend sent me a book on Anna Maria written by Fr. Albert Bessiere(?) The uber-saccharine hagiography made her seem more the Saviour than Jesus. It was so overdone, I was on the verge of welcoming 3 days of anything after reading 50+ pages. Per your click, I was thrilled to read that she had a friend, a real friend. That must've come after page 50..or maybe not. It's too late at night (and I've had too many disagreements with Trads) to click on the "Three Days Darkness" hyperlink..but I recall thinking that Sept. 11, 12 and 13 of 2001 might've been those 3 days, most darkenedly of all in NYC.

  11. Carol - LOL! The 3 days thing is troubling and inexplicable - which is why I don't try to figure it out.

  17. belinda,

I can pray and cry but have never tried to eat while doing so.

Maybe we need to start selling a three days of darkness survival kit.
