Today was once called Passion Sunday, now it is called the Fifth Sunday in Lent. Some churches continue to drape the statues and crucifixes in purple. I like that very much. This photo shows the giant statues at St. Agnes draped. (The photographer was on the floor, which might be the reason the people look so tall.)Sunday, March 29, 2009

It should be "Tomorrow" was once called Passion Sunday. And I miss it, just like I miss Septuagaesima, Sexigaesima, Quinquigaesima, etc.
ReplyDeleteEver since they started changing things, lift got oh so much more complicated. They changed them and never bothered to tell people.
I still wonder what happened to Ascension Thursday!!!
We veiled the statues today, but the crucifix won't be veiled until Palm Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOur statues and our mural of the Ascension are draped in purple now. When I was a child they used to drape the crucifix and Our Lady's statue in white during Holy Week. Don't know if that is ever done anymore.
ReplyDeleteTer: Was this the photo you took right before Father Z doused an entire bucket of Holy Water on your head? You know, in retribution for...well, you know.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
Hi luv. Miss me?
Cath - I miss you so much. Were you home visiting or something? I felt bad for Fr. this morning so I took a fashion shot of him down. I wish he... oh well - pray for him.
