    The Exterminating Angel 1967-Luis Bunuel
The Ghost & Mrs. Muir 1947-Jos. Mankiewicz
Beauty and the Beast 1946-Jean Cocteau
Picnic at Hanging Rock 1975-Peter Weir

  5. Michael those are good films - I have only seen a couple however.

My 11 favorites - that simply come to mind:

    Breakfast at Tiffany's
    Death In Venice
    Brother Sun Sister Moon
    The Nun's Story
    The Birdcage
    Auntie Mame
    All About Eve
    Annie Hall
    Moonstruck
    Babette's Feast
    As Good As It Gets
    Longtime Companion

Not the greatest films I suppose.

Annie Hall & Breakfast at Tiffany's just miss my short list. Death in Venice, Moonstruck & Babette's Feast are way up there for me too. Brother Sun Sister Moon would be at the very top of my list except it is spoiled for me by a couple saccharine scenes. I love most of the Donovan's score! Just re-watched my taped copy of Longtime Companion a couple of months ago, after not seeing it since it first came out, and I promptly deleted it. I guess it wouldn't make my top 500 or so...lol

  7. Michael - Longtime Companion is not a great film, and it is pretty much early propaganda - but I know so many people who went through that, it reminds me of that reality. I also watch it when I get all holier than thou about gay people and the lifestyle. They are people... persons with souls.
