Blond foreign affairs.

Works for me.
.
John McCain's wife, Cindy, appeared on ABC's This Week and said Sarah Palin had experience with Russia, because of Alaska's proximity to it.
.
"Remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So it's not as if she doesn't understand what's at stake here," she said.
.

.
Thanks to Thom.

  1. Well, that's like learning about Russia through osmosis. However, I still like Palin. She somehow seems pleasantly out of place next to John McCain and other more experienced politicians, which to me indicates that she’s not part of the Washington do-nothing crowd.

    I’m especially glad she’s pro-life.

  2. Tom - I really like her too. It takes me a long time to adjust to "normal" when everyone else is so screwed up in politics. I also have learned to be cautious and never jump on a band wagon. It especially freaks me out when people approve of someone they know nothing about.

I liked Hillary Clinton too - a lot - it doesn't mean I approved of her politics.

We are in for almost 2 months of intense campaigning - there is pleanty of time to figure out if and who one will vote for.

  5. Name three redeeming qualities about Hillary, and you can't include,
    1) Master manulipater
    2)supurb liar
    3)self -serving
Seriously I am stuck ,and you are pushing my buttons. :)

Maybe one quality would be that she has kept her pant suit's tailor in business ,thus feeding his or her family.

I'd go out on a limb and say that Florida politicians (particularly those in 1961), weren't just familiar with Cuba through "osmosis" and that Texas politicians aren't just familiar with Mexico (and its policies and its people) through "osmosis."
It's hard for us to grasp because it's a world away, but Alaskans in general are pretty much up to speed on every move Russia makes. Their lives depend on it, in a very real sense. (Note: I am not anti-Russia. I love vodka and furry hats and pretty churches and all that.)
Being governor of Alaska does indeed give you a unique perspective on foreign affairs and on the other half of the Cold War.
There are places in Alaska where you can stand on the shore and spit on Russia. At its closest, they're only 2 miles apart.
I like Sarah Palin for many, many reasons, but I also think she could be valuable in helping straighten out Cold War 2: Georgian Boogaloo, also.

Well, that does it! I am NOT voting for the Cindy McCain/ Todd Palin ticket! She is just not qualified to be First Lady, with silly impromptu comments like that.

    PS

In fairness, Obama probably has a greater understanding of Gary, Indiana than Palin.

And he certainly has a greater understanding of Machine politics, underhanded, same-old-same-old Chicago.

-Can't wait to move the hell out of Chicago and get away from these scumbags.
