Br. Christian.

This is me when I was a novice with the Trappists.

  1. I must say, Terry, in the photographs you have posted of yourself, I've detected what I would describe as a very gentle demeanor on your part. To me, your disposition seems or very friendly, kind, and not at all angry or a mad at the world type.

  2. Tom - I must be scary if I come off as angry and mad at the world. I'm really not like that at all.

  3. Terry-

You're NOT like that at all, and you DON'T come across as someone who suffers from that condition in the writtings from any of the blogs you maintain. I was basically basing what I said on this latest pic, and other pics you posted previously:)

    A precious angel!

I don't think you come off as mad at the world in your blog, at all...just as a very insightful person with a sharp sense of humor. :-D

  5. Hello!

A friend sent a link here, saying you're also a painter (artist?), interested in monastic life.

So if you are (the photo points in that direction for sure...) it would be interesting to hear more (through mails eventually). Also if you have some paintings online it would be nice to see them.

Terry, a very revealing picture. You seem so serene and gentle, meek and mild, really. Thanks for posting this. I enjoy your blog whenever I get online.

  8. Terry, you look so happy there. You would've made a great monk. Now you're a "monastic in the world" ... leaven in the world ... and I'm grateful to know you.

    Hugs & Chestbumps & Mooselicks!

Yeah, revealing photo alright. Serene, gentle, meek and mild -- and then you notice that they kept him in a straight jacket.

Great photo, and love the icon.

  15. Hi Terry,
I still like the photo of you and the Franciscan better, but this is a really nice side to see of you. Our history is important, and the groups that we were a part of form us as well. Like the Abbey2 pic of the 'flock' of you. Do you stay in touch with them?

  16. So...why is the title of the picture "SmallDave5"?

Just curious. Shouldn't it be "Novice Terry"? lol

I have that icon, bought it for my office.

  17. Adoro - the monk who had the photos scanned for me - by another person - the scanner guy titled all of the scans according to size of the file and with br. David's name, and a number to identify the file.
