"I hate it that Christmas comes and goes so fast!"

Have ya got yur tree down yet?

My best friend Darold said it when I spoke with him this morning: "I hate it that Christmas comes and goes so fast!"
I said, "What do you mean? Christmas just started on Christmas Day!"
He said, "Well yeah - that's what they say - but it's really over. Some people have even taken down their tree already."

  1. I have to agree with both of you.

Your friend speaks the truth. I always enjoy the month or so leading up to Christmas. For me the world is in a state of transformation during this time, and is in the process of "looking" more like Christmas. Oh well. Next year.

    PS

Now we have Easter to look forward to, you know. I do recall celebrating something significant during that time:0)

  3. I see you found my cat!

I've had Siamese cats all my life...except for our first cat, Shalom, who was a black Persian.

I really missed it this year...I went in stages of decorating that believe it or not, ended yesterday morning with me putting the glass ornaments on my tree in time for New Year's Eve. I've always felt that the holiday is rushed, especially by retail and media, but I think in my disarray this year, I actually found a better Christmas...hope you did you too.

  5. I used to live in NW Pennsylvania and it was bloody ridiculous - christmas preparations starting just after labour day but people taking down their lights and christmas trees after christmas dinner !!!!!!!!!
Stupid, bleeding stupid - what was even dafter was putting up the happy new year lights the next day !! then the happy valentine's day on the afternoon of the 1st ...
what is it with you people ?
don't you understand how to enjoy yourselves ?
all egg and no chicken !
it's like spending six months sewing a prom outfit, doing two after school jobs to pay for the limo , corsage etc - arriving at the prom, getting your photo taken ,then leaving after the first five minutes .
