No homos in Iran.

The president of Iran told students at Columbia that there were no homosexuals in Iran. (For one thing, they execute them, as seen in the above photo.)

"In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country," Ahmadinejad said to howls and boos among the Columbia University audience.

"In Iran we do not have this phenomenon, I don't know who has told you that we have it," he said. - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad 9/24/07

I've been waiting for a statement like this to post about homosexuality in Muslim culture. I'll try to do it tomorrow - it may be more prevalent than Ahmadinejad is willing to admit - although some Muslim men seem to have a way to justify it.

  1. Yeah, I guffawed at that, too.
    What a piece of crap.

  2. Whoopi Goldberg said the way she remembers his last name is "I'm a dinner jacket."

If Muslim countries, at least Iran, don't have homosexuality, what about wealthy Muslim men having young boys at their disposal. My uncle was a Bridge Grand Master and told us about a well-known actor he once played against decades ago that had a young boy travelling with him during the tournament. Disturbing to even think about.

  3. Monica - I saw Whoopi say that too - although I don't watch The View - in fact, I never watch TV. But anyway - your father's story is similar to what I'll be covering in my story - I still don't have time to do it yet - gotta watch The Bold and the Beautiful. LOL!

When I watched Ahmadinejad's speech (it's on C-span3 online) I thought that he answered this question tongue-in-cheek. He had a definite smirk on his face when he said that they do not have homosexuality in their country "like it is in your country."

I took this to very plainly mean that they do not have the problem of homosexuality being paraded in the faces of the public like it is in the US and if it is, then it is immediately dealt with, "cleaned up" (as your photo accompanying this post illlustrates so clearly how they go about that, lol). And, as far as those with homosexual tendencies or even those who practice homosexuality behind closed doors and in secret, then as long as they are not parading it and pushing it to others, as far as the government is concerned "it does not exist".

I think it all has to do with Islamic rules about having to have four witnesses to homosexual (or adulterous) acts of fornication before the very severe sentence of the death penalty can be dealt.

That's FOUR witnesses. Four. I think that pretty much makes a public parade out of the act in itself.
