Who are you?

One more thing from our beloved Saint.

A prayer of St. Francis:

"Who are you Lord?
And what am I?"

How I love this prayer.

Look at him in this painting!

(Okay - no more blogging for his feast day!)

  1. Oh, Terry. Thank you for posting this wonderful image. It came to me during the night that Dad bought me that framed picture of Saint Francis and Jesus Crucified for my Confirmation. I was in 4th grade, so I must have been 9 or 10 years old. I was in a terible dilemma at Confirmation: I wanted BOTH Saint Michael the Archangel and Saint Francis as my patrons. (Having to choose one,I ended up taking Michael as my Confirmation name.) My 4th grade teacher, Miss Anne Marie Keating, thought that very odd and reprimanded me for wanting to be different. She just didn't get it! Dad also bought me my first biography of Saint Francis: Mirror of Christ by Isidore O'Brien, O.F.M. Nice green cover with a gold stamp on it, if I recall rightly. I loved that book.
